Special Communication
Lodge was opened on the third Degree of Masonry in due form by the Worshipful Master, V. W. Chris
Coffman, at 4:20pm, with S.W. Travis Sams in the West and Br. Brian Devish in the South.
The W. M. closed the Lodge of Sorrow for 2009 and declared the Lodge “Off Session” for the purpose of
Open Installation of Officers for the ensuing year at 4:30 pm.
The installation program was convened by V.W.B. Chris Coffman at 7:30 pm with members as noted in the
Tyler’s Register and guests. Chris announced the names of the
installation officers, who took their stations as their names were called:

elected and appointed for the ensuing year, who took their stations in a semi-circle west of the altar, as

V.W.B. Terry installed the above officers in accordance with the Standard Work and Freemasons’ Guide
of Washington.
The Installing Marshal proclaimed the officers of Fern Hill Lodge No. 80, F&AM of Washington duly
installed at the direction of the Installing Worshipful Master, with the exception of the Senior and Junior
Stewards.
Worshipful Master, W.B. Travis Sams thanked all present for their attendance and thanked the
installing officers for their service. He announced the Mary Bridge
Children’s Hospital as his charity for his term. Families and
friends of the Master and Wardens were introduced. The Rainbow
Girls and Job’s Daughters who served as escorts for the installed officers were introduced and thanked for their
services.
The guests were dismissed to the dining room for refreshments.
The Lodge was called “On Session” by W.B. Travis Sams, who then opened a “Lodge of Sorrow” for the
ensuing year.
The Lodge was closed by the Worshipful Master in due form at 8:28 pm, peace and harmony
prevailing.
