Happy Holidays and New Year to everyone!
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday season, and I'm looking forward to a busy 2008 term as Master There are three (3) main issues that I will be addressing during my year.
The FIRST has to do with the financial state of our Lodge. We are currently investigating the status if our various assets and liabilities, and will shortly know where we stand financially. Several good fund raising ideas have been brought forward, including the filling of our vacant downstairs. Hopefully we should be back in the black before the year is out.
The SECOND issue is one faced by Masonry in general --- MEMBERSHIP. We will be very active in trying to acquire new and younger members this year, by incorporating fun activities that involve the community with our fund raising projects. We maybe able to get several birds with same stone!. Thanks again for your support! Together we shall succeed!
The THIRD of coarse is our building. It needs a lot of T.L.C. (Tender Loving Care) to get it in tip-top condition, the leaks, the windows, doors, the fallen plaster, etc.
The question may arise, how many truly compose a lodge of Freemasons? Who is doing the real work, like open and prepare the lodge room, clean up afterwards, do small and large repair work, brew the coffee, wash the dishes, sweep and vacuum, execute the telephone calling, take care of refreshments, attend to the mail and answer cards and letters, check the building and arrange for necessary repairs.
Who is doing all of this? I hope we can share the load and make it so much easier for all. Thank you Brethren who regularly pitch in if help is needed, and let us not forget to thank you.
It is so much easier to accomplish the chores we need done if we are enthusiastic about our duties. Good things come by hard work
