Meeting for Sep 5th, 2006
Opened at 7:15p.m.
Attendees: WM Jim Rowe, Bros: John Glazier, , Mark Goodwin(President), Ernie Jenner, Jonathan Seaton, Richard Tobian, (Absent: Ronald Woods, Richard Tobian, Kenny Cason, Don Trombley).
1. Bro John Glazier spoke with the tenant and discovered that the fan concern is minimal. He said the fan vents into the airspace between the ceiling and the upstairs floor and really has no venting effect. However, we can still go ahead and repair or replace it. Until we actually re-do the bathroom downstairs, a proper fan will not do anything more.30th.
2. The electrical contractor Bro John Glazier contacted will not bid on the lighting job unless we re-do the incoming electrical panel. We need to provide a 400 amp box with 2 gang meter box (200amp for each side downstairs). We estimate the cost to be around $4000 or so. Bro Mark Goodwin will get competing bids on the panel and service. Three bids for the better service is our starting point. Improved lighting for downstairs will follow.
3. Bro Mark Goodwin will be the contact man for the tenant.
4. The man lift for the front windows did not go. There were not enough people available on the 27th . Bro Mark Goodwin has asked a local handyman (Ty) to inspect the windows and estimate the work (concentrate on inspecting cracks, caulking and possibly replacing the Bird-B-Gone with Nixalite). He will also look at the crack on top of the tenants window.
5. The discussion turned to the crack in front of the building and the fire escape. The handyman will be asked to look at the crack. The fire escape is a big job. It was noted that some of the tie bolts attaching the landing to the building are pulling away. Bro Ernie Jenner suggested that with the number of potential concerns we have with the building (cracks, fire escape, etc…), that we should hire a structural engineer to look over the whole building. Bro Jenner will try to find 2 and so will Bro Glazier.
6. As for re-keying the locks, it was decided that we contact Bro George Bertram. WM Jim Rowe has offered to make this contact. What we want is a front door key and a master for the Lodge room and the front door, so Masons can operate both locks with one key and non-masons can just get in the front door. We should probably have the keys marked “Do not duplicate”.
