Temple Corporation Minutes

Meeting for February 28th, 2006

Attendees: WM Jim Rowe, Bros: John Glazier, Don Trombley, Mark Goodwin, Ernie Jenner, and Jonathan Seaton (Absent: Richard Tobian, Ronald Woods and Kenny Cason).

1.    Reviewed and adopted By-Laws as presented by Grand Lodge. As far as possible we filled out blank spaces as to times of meetings, minimum number of trustees, audit times, etc. We need to determine the level of cost the trustees may spend above which the Lodge must pass by majority vote. This is critical to GL and Ron Woods will report after discussion with our Deputy GM for Dist 7.

2.    Nominations for Trustee positions: Chair—Mark Goodwin, Vice chair—Ernie Jenner, Secretary—Ronald Woods, Treasurer—Jonathon Seaton. All passed by unanimous vote.

3.    Neon Sign: Mark Goodwin will take pictures and submit for bids. Also he should check with Rich Tobian, as he arranged the manufacture of the existing sign.

4.    We had a lot of discussion about the possibility of opening up the windows on the North side of the Lodge. Two bids so far: Wilderness glass offered double pane insulated replacements at $500 per window installed. Mr K’s bid to pull the North wall paneling above the chair rail, remove the windows, all permits, dumpster, fencing, ¼ “ drywall, tape, texture, paint was $4,675. His bid for the rest of the room was another $6.720. The feeling was that Mr K’s bid was too high and that we would do better to replace all the windows before we incurred so much cost.

It was determined that we would have a work party on March 21st , at 6:30pm instead of our regular 3rd Tue meeting in order to cut the paneling at the windows for an inspection. It is possible that we can just maintain what we have, first.

5.    We tabled discussion of how much to charge the lodge as a “rent” (maintaining the precept of distinct corporations). Suggestions ranged from charging the lodge once a year at the exact rate it costs to provide maintenance, to charging the equivalent of the ILS Corp, to charging a percentage of total membership. Input is welcomed.
    Respectfully, Secretary pro-tem
    Jonathon

    Signed:
Mark Goodwin, Chairman elect.
